So you wanna build a POD brand huh?

And you heard Shopify was a good place to do it?

Who ever told you that - was right.

According to sources I've seen, there are over 500,000 Shopify stores!

That's a lot!!

In this article today, I will outline 3 steps you need to take to build your own print on demand brand with Shopify!

Starting Monday I am hosting HIGH TICKET POD! A 5 day FREE training to help you sell high profit POD products this Christmas! ... Click here to check it out!

Step one: Choosing your niche & products.

Choosing a niche is perhaps the BIGGEST thing that will determine your future success.

If you don't choose a good niche... who is even gonna buy from you?

NO ONE!

Bad niches don't contain people that are passionate enough to buy products online!

To make this easier on you, try and think of niches that people are emotionally connected to.

Things they're passionate about.

Things they identify with.

You want them to WANT to get off the couch at night to get their wallet so they can complete their purchase after seeing your product...

Selecting a product to sell them is also no easy task...

With so many options available - its really easy to get confused.

For starters - you wanna make sure you pick something that is universally used.

This means lots of people have one, or want one.

Things like umbrellas, shower curtains or lap top cases probably aren't a great option.

Rather, products like phone cases, hoodies, blankets or even seat covers for the car - are more used by everyone and could be a great impulse purchase for them.

 Step Two: Building your store

When it comes to building your store there are 5 key areas you need to pay attention to.

1) Your logo
2) Your color scheme
3) Your product descriptions
4) Your product images
5) Your branding

Many print on demand store owners REALLY neglect how important their logo is on their store.

It's the first thing a customer sees - and it should be professionally done.

When I say professionally done, I don't mean that you should hire someone.

(Although that's an option, people on Fiverr do this for $10)

What I mean is, make a simple text based logo with minimal effects.

Color scheme - is another thing.

Don't do it randomly. Are there colors in your niche that make sense?

If there are, find little ways to include them.

Your headings, add to cart button etc.

This will help you achieve your desired brand identity in the mind of the customer.

Product descriptions are also very important. You need to make sure you don't just use the default description from the print on demand app.

These are often not branded, and contain information that is rather useless.

Instead, try and write something short, but impactful about your store, and why people should by a product from you.

Product images also have the potential to help or hurt your sales.

Some print on demand apps have mockups for t shirts that look like little boys.

If you've made a shirt for people who ride Harley Davidson motorcycles, good luck getting them to buy with this product image here...

See how something like that could hurt your brand's credibility?

Lastly is branding.

Which refers to the customers perception of your store.

The little things.

Adding your logo to your product image.

Your trust badge (add your logo here too)

The way you write things, do you use words the niche uses?

When you combine all of this, you can really create an awesome brand identity.

Step Three: Your Marketing Strategy

In my opinion, the quickest way to scale a POD brand is with paid traffic.

Mainly, Facebook & Instagram ads.

Your marketing mix should be about 75% Facebook/Instagram ads and 25% organic through a niche specific Instagram page.

For this article I'll primarily share about what you can do on Instagram for free.

First thing to do is create an Instagram for your store.

Next, identify 10-15 hashtags that are popular in your niche.

Then, upload 2-3 pictures or videos a day that your niche would like using those hashtags.

When people follow your account, send them a message offering them a discount to buy from you.

(The link to your store should be put in the bio of your Instagram page)

Once you start to grow, begin to sprinkle in pictures of your products on your feed.

Posting every other day a picture of one of your products, and letting people know they can use the link in your account's bio to buy it is something that can make a huge impact.

One of the first stores I did this with eventually made it to $5,000 in sales per month with only about 4,000 followers.

This is a great strategy for someone who doesn't have a large ad budget, but still wants to try and make sales.

So, hopefully you enjoyed this article and got something out of it!

See ya later!
